Two archimandrites added on the list of candidates for election of new hierarchs ( 15.04.2005 )

ANNOUNCEMENT

 

 

                The Holy Synod of Hierarchs of the Macedonian Orthodox Church at its regular session, held on April 14, 2005, examined several current matters, among which the personnel issue in the high clergy of the Church, writing down from the list of possible candidates for future hierarchs into the List of candidates to be elected hierarchs of the Macedonian Orthodox Church: 

-          Archimandrite Clement (Božinovski), hegoumen of the Holy Transfiguration monastery in Zrze and

-          Archimandrite Poemen (Ilievski), a post-graduate at Saint Sergius Institute in Paris.

The Holy Synod of Hierarchs of the Macedonian Orthodox Church stated its strong reaction against Greece and other interested foreign instances applying pressures to change the constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia.

The Macedonian Orthodox Church, with its hierarchy and the faithful in the fatherland and in the diaspora does not agree with any concession regarding the constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia.
