SERBIAN AUTHORITIES CREATE SAD MONTENEGRO ( 15.08.2005 )

The president of the Social-democrats League of Vojvodina, Nenad Čanak, has accused the authorities in Belgrade of creating a “Serbian autonomous district of Montenegro” with the help of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in order to additionally destabilize the state of affairs in that republic, informs Makfax.

- I am much worried because of the developments in Montenegro and in Macedonia, since those are the last two federal units of the former SFR Yugoslavia Serbia was not at war with. Apparently, it is their turn now – said Čanak in an interview for the Novi Sad daily Dnevnik.

He assessed that from Belgrade the scene is being set to create in Montenegro a certain “SAD Montenegro” for the purpose of destabilization of that republic after the independence referendum.

- Quite similar are the plans concerning Macedonia, only that issue is much more complex, in view of the fact that there are more interested parties – said Čanak.

According to him, unless the Church and State are separated, Serbia will be become “an Orthodox Jamahiriyah like no other in the whole world”.

- It is completely clear that the SOC in the past 15-odd years has played a role of an ideological patrol and vanguard of the army – said Chanak, adding that after the picture of a military helicopter carrying the church on the Rumiya hill, we can expect a picture of a tank with Amphilochy Radović sitting on it.
