Turkish nationalists interrupt the sermon of Patriarch of Constantinople ( 12.05.2006 )

In the basilica in the city of Bergam, nationalists have interrupted the sermon of the Constantinopolitan Patriarch. With sounds of Ottoman march, the demonstrators entered the church, demanding that the Patriarch of Constantinople stops his activity in Turkey and returns to Greece.

According to our source, the nationalists plan to collect about a million signatures in support of the campaign for eviction of the Constantinopolitan Patriarch from the country. The European Union has many times ascertained that religious freedom is not respected in Turkey, yet Turkish Government has denied that.
